Williams prepares to mark Alex Albon's 100th race

It's been five years since Alex Albon made his Formula 1 debut with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2019. A tenure that saw him promoted and then relegated to Red Bull eventually saw him left Formula 1 altogether in 2021. A string of strong performances from Albon on his return to the top flight with Williams in 2022 will go a long way to vindicating his reputation. Alex took over from George Russell, who left Williams, and immediately became a top driver, who was valued and respected. 

Alex Albon, born and raised in the UK, competes under the flag of Thailand - his mother's nationality, which makes him only the second driver from the Southeast Asian country to compete at the top of motorsport, and the first for almost seven decades.

The US Grand Prix will be Alex Albon's 100th race in Formula 1, and Williams boss James Vowles said he really wants to make this event special for the driver. To this end, a special logo will appear on his FW46 during the weekend in Austin. The anniversary race will be the final one in Alex's fifth season in Formula 1. During this time, he earned 240 points, twice finishing on the podium, while driving for Toro Rosso, Red Bull Racing and Williams.

Alex has decided to commit his future to Williams for a long time to help the team rise to higher positions.
