Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2025 to be held in Baku

This will be the seventeenth stage of the race held in the sunny country. Earlier, in 2024, the race took place on September 15 at the Baku City Circuit in Baku. The winner of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last year was Australian McLaren driver Oscar Piastri, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc finished second, and Mercedes driver George Russell finished third.

Oscar Piastri, who won last year, will also try to repeat his success this year. The Australian race car driver was already a participant in Formula 2 in 2020, and in 2024 in Abu Dhabi, Piastri has already won two races, driving three fastest laps and won ten podiums in Formula 1. He is one of the youngest drivers in the top division, and the young man clearly has a great future. Oscar Piastri is an eight-time world champion in karting.

Charles Leclerc is also a very interesting driver. The 2022 season vice-champion is a citizen of Monaco, who was born into a family of an entrepreneur who competed in Formula 3 races in his youth. After the prestigious Grand Prix in the capital of the United Arab Emirates in 2024, Leclerc won eight races, 26 pole positions, drove 10 fastest laps and 43 podiums in Formula 1.

George Russell, who finished third in Azerbaijan last season, is from England. In 2024, Russell won the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix and qualified for the British Grand Prix, and this year the Mercedes driver is sixth with 245 points.
