Participants of Formula 1 Grand Prix in Azerbaijan have been announced
The participants of the current Grand Prix have already been partially named. According to official information, the Red Bull Racing team will include Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson, the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team team will include Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, the Scuderia Ferrari HP team will include Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, and the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team team will include Esteban Ocon and Oliver Berman. Last year, the seventeenth championship was held in Baku, where the victory was won by the young and very promising driver Oscar Piastri from McLaren. He had previously won in Abu Dhabi, so the victory in Baku was the second in his brilliant career.
This season promises to be no less exciting – the rivals are more than worthy. Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing, a four-time world champion in the Formula 1 class, starting in 2021. Verstappen has classic, calm and consistent movements, and in addition, the driver has an excellent sense - he always knows where he will end up after a particular move.
Fernando Alonso of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team finished in the top ten a dozen times in the 2024 season and helped the team take fifth place in the constructors' standings. The Spaniard brought the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula 1 team more than 100 podiums in 2023, which speaks of him as a very experienced and serious athlete who will clearly compete with the ambitious Verstappen.
Baku City Circuit is a street racing circuit in the capital of Azerbaijan, which is built in the Baku Seaside Boulevard area. Its length is six kilometers, and among all the city tracks of the most prestigious Formula, this distance is the longest, and then quite difficult even for the most experienced pilots. Part of the track goes through the historical district, there is a section where the cars go in opposite directions, and the most dangerous section runs along the Icheri-Sheher (Old City) district along the wall of the ancient fortress of the 12th century: the width of the road is only 7.6 m.
