Legendary rock band Metallica to take to the stage at Etihad Park as part of the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula 1 event

Founded in 1981 by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, Metallica is one of the key figures in heavy metal. After moving to New York, the band recorded their debut album. The original title of the album, "Metal up your ass", did not please distributors due to its provocative nature. It was Burton who suggested changing the name to a more acceptable one - "Kill 'Em All". Although this album was not commercially successful, it found its audience and laid the foundations for a new genre - thrash metal.

As their popularity grew, the band realized the need for change: Johnny Zazula could no longer provide for their financial needs. The second album, called "Ride the lightning", was recorded in Denmark in 1984 with a budget of $ 30,000 and received public recognition. Thanks to their live performances, the band gained immense popularity, and album sales went up.

The real breakthrough came with the third album, "Master of Puppets". Despite the lack of radio rotation, the album sold millions of copies thanks to its powerful live performances. This success cemented the band's status as a cult icon of heavy music. Since then, eleven full-length albums have been released, and the band has gained millions of fans around the world. Metallica's music has become a symbol of powerful heavy metal and has found use in films and computer games. The album "Master Of Puppets" was even included in the US National Recording Registry as culturally significant.
