Hungarian Grand Prix: McLaren scores one-two with 10 rounds to go before Abu Dhabi showdown

George Russell of Mercedes finished third. This race on the twisty Hungaroring track once again confirmed its status as one of the most demanding on the calendar and brought new intrigue to the fight for the championship title.

The race, which took place from 1 to 3 August, gave fans a thrilling spectacle. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, who started from pole position, was unable to maintain his advantage and ultimately finished only fourth. The McLaren team demonstrated not only speed, but also excellent tactical preparation, dividing the strategies of its drivers. Norris, who chose the tactic of one pit stop, was able to hold off the attacks of Piastri, who was on fresher tyres, in the final laps. This double victory was the seventh for McLaren this season and the 200th victory in the team's history. 

It was a disappointing weekend for Ferrari, who, despite Leclerc's pole position, encountered technical problems in the race. Reigning champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull also had a difficult race and finished only in ninth position. 

Now that the European part of the season is coming to its logical conclusion and the teams are going on a summer break, all the fans' attention is riveted to the grand finale, which will take place in Abu Dhabi. Often associated with Dubai due to its proximity and luxury, the Grand Prix will take place from December 5 to 7 at the Yas Marina Circuit and will be the decisive battle for the world championship title.
