Description

The Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit is located on the southern outskirts of the Italian city of Imola and is a classic European track. It received its name in honor of the founder of Ferrari, Enzo, and his son, Dino. Most often this track is called by its location - “Imola”.

In 1980, Imola made its official debut on the Formula 1 calendar, hosting the 50th Italian Grand Prix.

The track was built in 1950 and was immediately loved by racers due to its smooth configuration. In the early 70s, two chicanes (tight turns) were made to limit speed, and 10 years later another one was added.

In the early 90s there were several accidents on the track, and in 2007 the San Marino Grand Prix was removed from the Formula 1 calendar.

In 2020, all motorsport fans once again had the opportunity to buy tickets for the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, because in the fall of that year the stage returned to the Formula 1 calendar as part of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. In addition, the circuit is also actively used: for example, track and field races and cycling races take place here.

Currently, the length of the track is 4,909 km, and the anti-arrow movement makes it special: on almost all international tracks, cars drive clockwise.

At one time, such famous pilots as Jacques Villeneuve, Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen and others celebrated victory on this track.

In 2025, from May 16 to 18, the next Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix will be held on the track. Spectators can expect three days of racing, 63 laps, over 300 km. and the participation of the most famous pilots from all over the world.
