Description
Lusail International Circuit, located near the city of Lusail and near the capital of Qatar, Doha, is an outstanding example of a modern circuit. Built in one year thanks to the efforts of thousands of builders and an investment of $58 million, the track was inaugurated in 2004 with the Qatar Moto Grand Prix, which was won by Sete Gibernau.
The length of the track is an impressive 5.4 kilometers, and the starting straight is 1068 meters long. These parameters make Lusail International Circuit one of the most attractive race tracks for professional racers and motorsports enthusiasts. The artificial grass surrounding the track effectively prevents sand from entering the track, which ensures high quality surfaces and safe racing.
In 2006, the circuit hosted the legendary Grand Prix Masters event, won by Nigel Mansell. In 2021, Lusail International Circuit made history by hosting the first Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix, further confirming its status as an international racing powerhouse.
